A 4 page memo to the president of a company contemplating expanding to Kuwait. The memo reports on the economy of the country, social factors and implications for the company. Fortunes in the Istanbul Stock Market
[ send me this report ]
A 9 page paper discussing the history and growth of
Turkey's stock market over the past decade and how it has affected relations with international
investors. Turkey's economy is rather typical of successfully developing markets in that it enjoys
an overall upward trend but suffers from occasional setbacks as all markets do. What sets
Turkey's Istanbul Stock Exchange (ISE) apart from the markets of other developing nations is
that its overall upward trend is so very impressive. In the first six months of 2000, the ISE was
the best-performing of all the world's markets in developing nations, posting a six-month total
return of 171.8%. The ISE has been dominated by local retail investors for much of its history,
but international institutional investors accounted for 51% of the ISE's capitalization by 1999.
Bibliography lists 15 sources.

Foundations of Terrorism
[ send me this report ]
A 6 page paper assessing the influence that the history of Algeria’s independence and Palestine’s struggle against Israel has had on the development of terrorism as it exists in today’s world. In many respects, it seems as though terrorism has become little more than a bad habit for many of those promoting and practicing it – a lethal habit, but a habit nonetheless. One author explains that one of the reasons for the persistence of terrorism is that it was a component of successful efforts of Algeria’s nationalists in gaining Algeria’s independence. Bibliography lists 3 sources.

Globalization Effects on the Cost Structure of Turkish Companies
[ send me this report ]
A 15 page paper discussing the cost of doing business in Turkey, its amazing economic performance despite an economic collapse in 2002, the role of FDI and the role of the Istanbul Stock Exchange in keeping investors' attention. With growth progressing so well and the government remaining committed to building the economy despite internal issues, Turkey's economic growth can be expected to continue. The ISE continues to provide an avenue by which foreign investors maintain focus on the nation and assists in preventing Turkey from being overlooked as globalization all too often means intense attention on Asia. Now being considered for entrance into the EU, the cost of doing business in Turkey is likely to decline until growth puts pressure on wages. Bibliography lists 15 sources.
